‘Wow’, ‘he can be our Werner’: Some Liverpool fans can’t wait to see 20-year-old in red next season

A number of Liverpool fans have been urging Jurgen Klopp to give Anfield prodigy Rhian Brewster first-team game time next season following his latest heroics out on loan.

The 20-year-old is one of the most highly rated players who have come through the Liverpool academy in recent years and, prior to the football shutdown, had netted four goals in 11 Championship games on loan at Swansea City.

Brewster then hit the ground running following the resumption of English football, netting six goals in the remaining nine Championship fixtures, plus striking a superb free kick through Millwall’s Bartosz Bialkowski, though it was given as an own goal.

Against all odds, Swansea have managed to extend their season with a superb 4-1 final-day win over Reading which, combined with Nottingham Forest’s 4-1 loss to Stoke City, saw the Welsh side nudge into sixth place at the Reds’ expense.

Naturally, Brewster was involved in this crucial victory for Swansea, getting the ball rolling with a simply sensational top-corner strike from 30 yards out.

Even though George Puscas equalised for the Royals with a penalty on the stroke of half time, Wayne Routledge’s brace, either side of Liam Cullen’s goal, sealed an incredible night for Steve Cooper’s side.

With Klopp confirming earlier this month that discussions between Liverpool and Brewster will be taking place over his future at Anfield () at the end of the season, plenty of Reds fans are getting excited in terms of what he could bring to the first team.
