Wow’: Gary Lineker posts instant reaction after news Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool
Gary Lineker has come out as one of the first to react to the huge news that Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Reds boss has announced he will step down from his role as Liverpool manager at the end of the season in news which has come as a huge shock to the system for the Reds.
Klopp apparently told the club in November of his decision and work has been going on behind the scenes to identify his replacement.
Of course, it has been kept from the media somehow and now, ex players and pundits are giving their reactions.
Lineker, never one to be shy of an opinion or two, has given the first of what will be many reactions on social media over the coming hours.
Who can fill Jurgen Klopp’s shoes?
Well, that will be the major talking point between now and the end of the season.
Klopp has been monumental in getting Liverpool back to their best and his loss is going to leave a huge hole that needs filling.
Quite who Liverpool go for now, remains to be seen. There won’t be loads of candidates and the name of Xabi Alonso is bound to be the main one mentioned.
However, this is no ordinary job and Klopp has his finger prints all over the club right now.
Taking over will be a massive ask and just like when Fergie left United, it could well backfire.
Liverpool fans, then, will simply have to wait and see what the club come up with.
