Ray Parlour makes claim about Erik ten Hag and Marcus Rashford after Manchester United v Porto

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is under yet more pressure after seeing his team narrowly rescue a point at Porto last night.

The Red Devils looked to be on their way to a comfortable win at one point before Porto fought back and went 3-2 up.

A late, late header from Harry Maguire rescued a result but once again, there was no getting away from just how poor some of the football on display was.

For Ten Hag, who was already under pressure before the game, it’s just made his position even more uncomfortable.

And after taking a sharp looking Marcus Rashford off at half-time, United fans were demanding answers.

And speaking about the decision on , Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour admitted their surprise.

Ray Parlour thinks he knows why Marcus Rashford was taken off v Porto

Speaking about the Rashford incident, Alan Brazil believes it was just something Ten Hag got wrong.

“Right, half time, what do you think? You know, this rotation, I am not having that, Ray. Rashford, who you could say was United’s best player first half, why take him off second half Europa League away from home,” Brazil commented.

Parlour, meanwhile, suggest Ten Hag had seen something he didn’t like from Rashford.

“I wouldn’t be amazed if something hasn’t happened where he hasn’t tracked back or something. The goals did come down the right-hand side. And obviously Marcus is there, look, more to go forward. We know defensively is not his strong point,” Parlour said.

Ten Hag’s Rashford call just won’t wash with United fans

Once again, it’s Marcus Rashford in the spotlight and while Ten Hag has called it rotation and suggested it was planned, United fans won’t be having it.

Put simply, the Dutch coach is now one of the most under pressure managers in Europe.

For a club of Man United’s stature, it’s simply not good enough at the moment and this decision on Rashford just adds more fuel to a fire that’s been burning for some time anyway.

Rashford looked sharper than he has done in months. For Ten Hag to take him off, is baffling.
