Rangers defender Connor Goldson has become a huge favourite at Ibrox since his £3million () arrival in the summer from Premier League club Brighton.
The 25-year-old quickly established himself in the starting XI during pre-season and has become an ever-present in the backline.
He has not missed a single minute of the club’s European or league fixtures so far, with his only rest coming in a League Cup win over Ayr United back in September.
But is the no-nonsense centre-back immune from being dropped by manager Steven Gerrard?
Rangers’ defence started the campaign in great tough and Goldson’s skills at the back meant he was fully deserving of his spot in the side.
But even he’s seen his individual form dip of late and it will be interesting to see if Gerrard would consider leaving him out.
Goldson has been the first-choice option in the heart of defence so far this campaign, with Joe Worrall and Nikola Katic both acting as his partner during different parts of the season.
But Goldson’s recent form doesn’t suggest he is guaranteed a spot in the XI and there is also the experienced option of Gareth McAuley that could be thrown into the mix.
It appears like Gerrard does have total faith in Goldson to be his leader at the back and it would be a surprise if he’s omitted at home to Motherwell on Sunday.
