‘Would make the division sit up’: Some Aston Villa fans excited by links to 21-year-old
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard as a potential target this summer – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter love the transfer speculation.
According to , Villa are one of several Premier League clubs keen on the 21-year-old attacker. Dean Smith’s side are joined by Liverpool, Leeds United and Tottenham in the potential race.
The report explains it would take a fee of around £30million for negotiations to take off. He still has three years remaining on his contract with Italian top-flight club Sampdoria.
Damsgaard was a fairly unknown name to English audiences a few months ago, but his Euro 2020 performances this summer alerted plenty.
The left-winger was a key player for a Denmark side that made it all the way to the semi-finals. His country were beaten by England in the semis, but he scored a memorable free-kick.
