‘Would be a great move’…Gilberto Silva really wants Arsenal to sign £100m midfielder this summer
A lot has been made of Arsenal’s spending in the last few windows but it seems that the Gunners will go again this summer.
After keeping their cool in January and resisting the temptation to sign a striker for big money, Arsenal now the chance to spend in the summer window to improve the squad.
As well as a striker coming in to improve the first XI, a midfielder could also be on the agenda for the Gunners with Jorginho and Thomas Partey facing uncertain futures.
Of course, one Arsenal legend who knows a thing or two about playing in midfield is Gilberto Silva.
And speaking to , the Arsenal Invincible has said that Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz would be a superb signing for the Gunners.
“He’s progressing, he’s improving and he’s well adapted to the Premier League. Why not to Arsenal next season? It would be a great move for him and the club,” Silva said.

Arsenal are playing brilliantly as it is so the idea they go out and add one of the Premier League’s best central midfielders is a scary thought.
That’s what the Gunners did in the summer when signing Declan Rice and that signing has turned out to be an absolute masterstroke in itself.
If Arsenal can somehow land Luiz, who could well cost another then it gives them a formidable midfield that could be there for years to build on.
We’ve seen how good Luiz is this season at Aston Villa and he’s been a driving force behind Villa’s attempts to get into the top four themselves.
A move to Arsenal would be considered a step up for Luiz even though Villa are doing well.
Mikel Arteta, then, will be hoping his board digs deep again if Luiz is available.
