‘Worried’… Gabriel Agbonlahor says he’s really concerned after hearing recent rumour about Newcastle
Gabriel Agbonlahor has expressed concerns for Newcastle United after recent speculation surrounding Dan Ashworth’s future at the club.
The Newcastle sporting director seems to be closing in on a switch to Manchester United.
Dan Ashworth is apparently keen on a move to Old Trafford, with claiming that Newcastle and Man United could reach an agreement as early as next week.
And as the Magpies chief edges closer towards a move to Manchester, Gabriel Agbonlahor has admitted he’s ‘worried’ for Newcastle.

Agbonlahor concerned for Newcastle amid Ashworth reports
Speaking on , Agbonlahor questioned whether Ashworth may be leaving due to a lack of control at St James’ Park.
“What I’m worried about is Newcastle and Dan Ashworth to Manchester United,” the pundit said. “Is he not happy with the amount of control he’s got at Newcastle?
“He’ll be a big loss for Newcastle, for sure, but Manchester United’s gain.”

Losing Ashworth would be a bitter blow for Newcastle after the work he’s done in Tyneside over the past 18 months.
The Magpies landed the sporting director from Brighton back in May 2022.
Man United reportedly view Ashworth as one of the best in the world at his job. He’s been a target for INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe for the past couple of months now.
Following Ratcliffe’s part takeover of United, it would appear that Ashworth is closing in on a move to Old Trafford.
The 52-year-old has been a key figure behind the scenes at St James’ Park and much of their recent success under Eddie Howe has been down to their brilliant recruitment.
Nevertheless, should Ashworth leave as expected, Newcastle will undoubtedly be eyeing suitable replacements already.
