‘World-class’ Tottenham man unlikely to play until 2025 as his injury is ‘more serious’ than expected

Tottenham Hotspur’s season has certainly been entertaining for the neutrals as they continue to blow hot and cold across all competitions.

Despite losing to Ipswich Town 2-1 two weeks ago, Ange Postecoglou’s side smashed Manchester City 4-0, although they failed to build on it as they played out a 2-2 UEFA Europa League draw against AS Roma.

It could be argued that Spurs have been hampered by a handful of injury issues in recent weeks, which has clearly had an effect on their exploits on the pitch.

And if reports are to be believed, one of their players is unlikely to play again this year as his injury is much worse than expected.

Richarlison’s season has been blighted by injuries as he finds himself on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem.

Postecoglou confirmed earlier this season that the Brazilian will be out for a few weeks due to a ‘significant’ injury, but it appears as if he has suffered a bit of a setback.

According to a report from Brazilian publication , Richarlison’s injury is ‘more serious’ than what was expected and is unlikely to play again in 2024.

The report also states that Tottenham have no intention of rushing him back as they try to work him back up to full fitness.

Earlier this season, Postecoglou claimed Tottenham worked personally with Richarlison to get him as fit as possible, despite which he suffered another injury setback.

Richarlison’s stats this season

Richarlison has been described as a ‘world-class’ player but the 2024-25 campaign has been torrid for him in terms of injuries.

With Wilson Odobert, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Mikey Moore and Guglielmo Vicario also on the sidelines, Tottenham’s injury woes have really deepened in recent weeks.

However, they will surely err on the side of caution with Richarlison and wait for him to return to full fitness to put an end to his recurring issues.

In the meantime, whether or not they decide to dip into the January transfer market for reinforcements remains to be seen.
