‘World class’ striker is really hoping Arsenal try to sign him this month
Ivan Toney has taken a stance regarding a potential move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.
That is according to Football Transfers, which has claimed what Toney wants to do about Arsenal.
So, what has been reported about Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Arsenal? Let’s take a look.
Ivan Toney wants to join Arsenal
Well, according to , Arsenal are interested in signing Ivan Toney from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the January transfer window.
The report has claimed that Toney wants to join Arsenal above other clubs and would prefer to make a move to the Emirates Stadium this month. He is “hopeful” of a transfer to the Gunners in January. Paul Merson wants the Gunners to sign him.

Brentford value the striker, who was described as “a world-class” player by former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster, at £100 million, but Arsenal will not pay that transfer fee.
The report, though, has added that “if a deal were to happen, there is more confidence that a move could be made this month, only below the Bees’ valuation”.
My View: Arsenal could struggle to sign Ivan Toney in January
In my view, Arsenal could struggle to get a deal done with Brentford for Ivan Toney in the January transfer window if they do not pay £100 million for him.
I understand why Arsenal do not want to pay £100 million for Toney this month. After all, the striker has not played in the UEFA Champions League and has not played at all this season due to a ban. Darren Bent, though, believes that he would score goals for the Gunners.
Toney will be available to play later this month, but it could take him a while to get to full-match fitness.
I do not think that Brentford will sell Toney for anything less than what they want. The Bees are an established club in the Premier League and are not in desperate need to sell players to raise money.
