‘World class’ player is seriously keen to sign for Liverpool after Arne Slot’s side turn his head
Liverpool are yet to make a signing in this summer transfer window, but that could be about to change.
Indeed, the Reds are said to be very keen on signing Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
Zubimendi is said to be the Reds’ top midfield target at the moment, but, as ever, this deal won’t be easy to do.
Real Sociedad are seriously trying to keep Zubimendi, but their efforts may well be in vain.
According to Dean Jones, speaking on the , Zubimendi’s head has been turned by Liverpool’s interest, but, even then, the journalist says this move isn’t a certainty.

Martin Zubimendi’s head has been turned by Liverpool
Jones shared what he knows about the ‘’ midfielder.
“The big story of the last 24 hours or so is that Liverpool want to sign Martin Zubimendi, and they have certainly turned his head. I didn’t get too dragged into the reporting around it, because I was told it’s not as cut and dry as it looks. It’s definitely not certain that Zubimendi is going to Liverpool,” Jones said.
Zubimendi deal should be simple
If Zubimendi’s head has indeed been turned by Liverpool, then getting a deal done shouldn’t be too difficult.
Indeed, the midfielder does have a reasonable £50m release clause in his contract, and if Liverpool truly do want to sign the Spaniard, they could accelerate this deal by triggering that clause.
We’ve seen Liverpool conduct business in this way in the past when signing both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, and a move for Zubimendi could be conducted in the same way.
If Liverpool get any indication that Zubimendi does indeed want to join, don’t be surprised if the Reds make a concrete move for the Real Sociedad star in the coming days.
This is a situation that could well move quickly.
