‘World class’: Ben Davies pays tribute to Tottenham man ahead of Arsenal clash
Ben Davies has hailed manager Antonio Conte as Tottenham prepare for the north London derby against Arsenal.
Spurs have a rare free midweek to get ready for the game after their EFL Cup elimination before the World Cup meant they were not involved in the quarter-finals.
The same went for Arsenal, but they played on Monday night against Oxford, so Spurs have almost two full days more to shape up.
Davies told that could be important, and hailed Conte’s ability to work with his players and get them in the right place.

Davies hails ‘world class’ Conte
He said: “When we do have the time on the training pitch, we have a world-class manager who can really whip us into shape when we have that time.
“We’re looking forward to the week’s work and hopefully it can help us out when we play. It’s just extra motivation for us, they’re playing well. They look like a very good side at the moment.
“They’re giving every team they play against tough games but we just want to focus on ourselves right now and hopefully at the end of the season we’re there or thereabouts.”
Spurs were well beaten in the first derby clash earlier in the season, although they did have first half counter attack opportunities they should have made more of.
They have won their last two matches without conceding, which adds a degree of momentum after a shaky return after the World Cup.
This is a huge game, and Conte got it absolutely right in the corresponding fixture last season, as Spurs ran out 3-0 winners and how the fans would dearly love a repeat on Sunday.
