‘World-class’ attacker has just been offered to Barcelona after rumours he wants to join Tottenham
Despite his willingness to head to north London, Tottenham Hotspur could be poised to miss out on one forward who has now been offered in Barcelona’s direction.
Before the transfer window closes, Ange Postecoglou will expect Spurs to make significant additions to his squad.
Although all three have exceptional potential, Tottenham have only signed a trio of 18-year-olds this summer: Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Yang Min-hyeok.
Min-hyeok won’t arrive until January and although Bergvall and Gray have both been exciting in pre-season, neither will significantly raise the level of Postecoglou’s first eleven immediately.
That explains why Tottenham are pushing to sign Dominic Solanke in the coming weeks, a striker who would disrupt things in a positive manner.
Solanke’s arrival could allow Son Heung-min to return to the left-wing, which is arguably still his strongest position.
That being said, it’s not just Solanke who Spurs are chasing right now.
Tottenham also want Federico Chiesa from Juventus, whom the Italian club are now pushing out of the door.
Barcelona could be interested in signing Tottenham target Federico Chiesa
Tottenham could now sign Chiesa for just £13m after Thiago Motta omitted the Italian from his plans at Juventus this season.
However, according to Spanish outlet , Barcelona could now enter the race after being informed of Chiesa’s availability.

The report explains that ‘world-class’ Chiesa was actually discussed as a potential signing this time last year, even if Barca eventually decided against a move.
That being said, Barcelona are currently focused on completing a deal for Dani Olmo.
TBR Football shared that Olmo was offered to Tottenham earlier this summer, but it seems as if the north-Londoners didn’t pursue a move.
However, Barcelona could still make a move for Chiesa after completing a deal for Olmo, given their attempts to sign Nico Williams are looking increasingly unsuccessful.
Barca are ‘open’ to the arrival of a left-footed winger, and Chiesa may fit the bill.
Of course, it would be a real statement were Tottenham able to secure deals for both Solanke and Chiesa before the transfer window concludes.
TBR recently shared that Richarlison wants to leave Tottenham, explaining that there could still be capacity for both to arrive.
And if Spurs are serious about matching Postecoglou’s ambitions, now seems like a good time to prove it.
