Report: Title-winners ‘waiting’ for Wolves to give green light over ‘special’ ace
Sporting CP are ‘waiting’ for Wolves to give them the green light over a move for Ruben Vinagre.
According to , the Lions are keen on signing the fullback and are waiting to start negotiations.
The 22-year-old is said to have agreed on a five-year contract with the Liga NOS champions. He ‘sees continuity in Portugal’ and doesn’t see a future for himself in England.
Vinagre’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
The ace started his career in Sporting’s academy before playing for a raft of different clubs across Europe.
He spent the first-half of last season on loan with Olympiacos before being recalled and returning to his home country to play for Famalicao.

Sporting interest: Vinagre move proven a waste of time for Wolves
Following his permanent move back in the summer of 2018, there was hope that Wolves had signed a gem in Vinagre.
Just last year, former manager Nuno Espirito Santo was singing the praises of the young defender.
When speaking to , the 47-year-old claimed that the player was growing. He also went on to praise his technical and tactical abilities.
Nuno said: “He’s so versatile and can give us some different things during the game. He’s special.”
Fast forward to the summer of 2021, and one of the most promising young left-backs in the game could be on his way out.
You feel as though the whole transfer has been a waste of time for the Black Country outfit.
He was seemingly swapped for Rayan Ait-Nouri, who joined on-loan from Angers last summer.
However, the Algerian has struggled to impress during his time at Molineux Stadium.
Meanwhile, Vinagre was fairly impressive for Famalicao during his time last term. The star started 20 league games, assisting three goals and winning two man of the match awards.
Amid Sporting interest, it seems Wolves have wasted their time when they signed Vinagre. The talented youngster is seemingly on the transfer list and it proves a baffling decision.
