Wolves star Raul Jimenez the glaring omission from team of the season
Wolves forward Raul Jimenez can count himself very unlucky to not be selected by Jamie Carragher in his recent team of the season.
Carragher, writing for his , selected seven Liverpool players in his XI with little room for anyone else.
The whole back four was Liverpool players, although Carragher did leave out Alisson and selected Sheffield United stopper, Dean Henderson.
He also found room for Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, while Jack Grealish also got the nod from the former Liverpool defender.
However, there was no place for Wolves star for Raul Jimenez. This, despite the Mexican firing in the goals left, right, and centre for the Molineux outfit.
Raul Jimenez deserves it over Aguero
In fairness to Carragher, he does has been this season for Wolves. But he still opted for Man City star Aguero over him.
It seems a bit off that Jimenez has not been selected. His form has been outstanding, especially given the fact he started the season so much earlier than anyone else and shows no signs of slowing up.
13 Premier League goals have been complimented by nine in the Europa League. In that time, Wolves have climbed to sixth in the table and remain in Europe.
Jimenez has made 44 appearances across all competitions already this season. By season end, there’s a chance the striker will have played around 60 games.
That figure in itself, plus the goals and the ability to simply stay fit and keep going, means Jimenez is a massive omission from Carragher’s team.

The good thing about Raul Jimenez is he seems to be getting better and could well offer even more next season for Wolves.
He’s very much built in the old fashioned number nine style but offers so much more. Jimenez has hit double figures when it comes assists as well.
It means, all in all, that he has been directly involved in 32 goals this season. Quite a remarkable stat. In comparison, Sergio Aguero in an attack-minded and ball-dominant team like Man City.
That, in itself, says it all.
