Wolves signing Silva would give Santo greater attacking variety next season

Wolves are weighing up a summer swoop for AC Milan striker Andre Silva,

They that the Old Gold are looking to add once more to their Portuguese contingent with a swoop for the AC Milan striker as they look to break into the Premier League top six.

The also says that there is some disagreement among the board at Molineux about how many new recruits should be brought in to boost a squad that has secured seventh spot – and most likely European football – with one game to spare of its first season back in the Premier League.

Silva cost AC Milan a reported £33.6m () back in 2017 but there is no mention by the Mirror of how much he may cost this summer after a campaign on loan with Sevilla.

While Jota has performed very well up front alongside Raul Jimenez this season, Wolves have suffered slightly with a lack of striking depth due to the departure of Leo Bonatini and the stagnation of Adama Traore.

But Silva could form a battering ram partnership with Jimenez, with Jota buzzing around at times as well, to carry the club into the top six.

That gap is hard to bridge but recent weeks have chosen up frailties in Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal which Wolves can exploit if they avoid second season syndrome, recruiting well and continuing to progress.

Silva could prove to be a major part of that, if Wolves can pull off yet another impressive coup.
