Wolves should consider January swoop for Chelsea striker Giroud

The recent form of Alvaro Morata has forced Olivier Giroud back into a bench role at Chelsea.

And with his career entering its final few years, the 32-year-old might look for a January exit to get regular playing time elsewhere.

Giroud is bound to have offers from England and abroad if he decides to move away from Chelsea.

But Wolves should be among the clubs eager to sign the Frenchman, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

Wolves currently have Raul Jimenez up front and the Mexico international is proving to be a useful central figure up front.

Jimenez has scored three goals in 12 appearances, although his presence up front allows the attacking midfielders to enter the game.

But there is no real competition for the 27-year-old. Leo Bonatini is the back-up striker but he does not look up to Premier League standard.

Giroud would be an excellent acquisition for Wolves as they strive for a top-half finish at the very least.

The France international has been a useful player at Arsenal and Chelsea, scoring 76 Premier League goals in total.

Moreover, his 6ft 4in frame is perfect for the way Nuno likes to play; with his attacking midfielders causing problems around a main man up front.

If Giroud becomes available this January, Wolves should definitely consider signing him.
