Wolves should be on alert over possibility of bringing in Andre Silva on loan

Sevilla are willing to cut short Andre Silva’s loan spell with the club provided they can secure a replacement this month,

They that Chelsea are confident of organising a deal for the Portuguese frontman by allowing Alvaro Morata to go the other way.

But if the Blues do not get that neat deal in order, Wolves should re-enter the chase for a player they enquired to parent club AC Milan about in the summer.

They were initially with Silva last January, when they were still in the Championship and could still use another striker, especially after failing to lure Tammy Abraham away from Aston Villa.

He has eight goals in 16 La Liga matches so far this season and would undoubtedly offer a striking upgrade on Leo Bonatini – who is currently backup to Raul Jimenez.

Even the Mexican hitman has faced questions over his quality in front of goal at times this season and Silva would provide a healthy competition for places, without doubt.

Wolves would hope to win the day by offering a Portuguese contingent to help him settle in England – which can be very tough for mid-season arrivals – and a greater degree of gametime than he might expect in competition with World Cup winner Olivier Giroud at Stamford Bridge.
