Wolves set to seal permanent deal for Jimenez before the end of the current season
Wolves expect to confirm the signing of Raul Jimenez before the end of the current season,
The loanee has scored 15 goals this season, prompting Wolves to spend £25m to make his temporary switch from Benfica permanent.
That fee would be a club record for the Old Gold, surpassing the fee paid for Adama Traore last summer, but there was little doubt that Nuno Santo would go all-out to get the man who has spearheaded his attack.
Jimenez has led Wolves to the semi-finals of the FA Cup as well as putting them in pole position to finish as ‘best of the rest’ in seventh place in the Premier League and has been a huge hit.

After his goal in the 2-1 win against victory last time out, Jimenez : “I like it very much here. I’m enjoying the team and how I play. It feels very good to be here.
“I was looking for this sort of feeling since I arrived in Europe, to have this confidence and the games. Now that I have it, I don’t want to lose it. We all know that we are a team and we are all important here.”
And Wolves are wise to get the deal done before a transfer scramble can take place for a player who has been one of the most impressive arrivals in the Premier League from last summer.
