Wolves plans to improve Conor Coady’s contract should fend off interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers can’t afford to lose defender Conor Coady amid reported interest from two Premier League clubs.

both Arsenal and Liverpool have scouted the 25-year-old this season and he’s on their transfer radar.

It is understood that the centre-back’s current deal at Molineux is due to expire in 2021, but the club are looking at extending his contract and giving him a pay rise to match the club’s top earners.

Wolves need to make sure they nail the contract talks and not give him a reason to want to leave, especially with such attractive clubs keen on him.

Coady is an underrated member of the team this season and has been a rock in the heart of a three-man defence this season in the Premier League.

The English defender is a mainstay in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and his leadership as captain shines through.

He’s also brilliant in possession to match Nuno’s style of play and it would be extremely difficult to replace him if he left.

Coady has the qualities and potential to be Wolves captain over the next few years, which is why bumping him up to a mega deal makes perfect sense.
