Wolves open talks to sign £13m forward compared to Marcus Rashford
Wolves are still yet to replace Pedro Neto as we enter the final nine days of the summer transfer window.
The Portugal international was arguably Gary O’Neil’s best player before he chose to leave Wolves in a £54m deal for Chelsea, so it is imperative that a replacement is signed.
Now, those at Molineux have opened talks to bring a very similar forward to Wolves…
Wolves make move to sign Jonathan Ikone
A story from in Italy now states that Wolves have made contact to sign Jonathan Ikone from Fiorentina.
The Italian news outlet believe Leicester have also asked about the France international – who Fiorentina signed from Lille in a (£12.8m) deal back in January 2022.
Viola News state that Ikone is likely to leave Fiorentina in the final days of the summer transfer window, with the Serie A side also happy to sell Josip Brekalo – who Rangers are in talks to sign.

The Fiorentina No.11 made 18 starts in Serie A last season – scoring three goals while also providing one assist – but is no longer Raffaele Palladino’s first choice on the right flank.
Ikone – who Chelsea wanted in 2020 – has also already entered the final 24 months of his contract, so Fiorentina risk allowing his value to decrease substantially if he is sold in 2025 instead of this summer.
Gary O’Neil could sign ideal Pedro Neto replacement
While Ikone has sadly fallen out of favour at Fiorentina, he is still a dangerous forward with pace to burn at the age of 26 – and plays in a very similar way to Neto.
Like the Portugal international, the Frenchman prefers his left foot, and has a strong tendency to cut inside from the right flank, looking to test the opposition with either a shot or cross.

In terms of the underlying data, FBref have also Ikone to Marcus Rashford.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Wolves enter talks to sign the man from Bondy.
