Wolves fans react excitedly as loanee Jimenez makes his Molineux move permanent
Mexican striker Raul Jimenez has made his loan move to Wolves permanent,
They that the Old Gold have decided to execute the option they had in his temporary switch from Benfica and he will permanently join the club on 1 July this year.
He is the club’s top scorer this season with 15 and Kevin Thelwell, Wolves sporting director, : “The impact Raúl has made during his short time at the club has been fantastic and we’re delighted that he’ll be part of the club’s long-term future.
“From the second he walked through the door, he settled straight into the group, and that reflects in his performance, with Raúl providing assists and overall selfless performances, as well as obviously goals.”
And naturally, the fans were excited to see a player who has become something of a cult hero this season commit his future to the club until the summer of 2023.
Wolves needed a top striker through the door last summer, after Leo Bonatini proved to be something of a weak link in the Championship in the end, and Jimenez has been everything they hoped for and more.
