Wolves fans react as Tottenham reportedly closing in on Carlos Vinicius
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a loan-to-buy move to sign Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius this summer with a medical pencilled in for Friday – and Wolves supporters have reacted on Twitter, having been previously linked with him.
Vinicius, 25, has caught admiring glances after netting a huge 24 goals in his first season for Benfica last term following a move from Napoli. The uncapped Brazilian also laid on a huge 13 assists, and is now set to act as Harry Kane’s back-up.
that Vinicius is set to join Spurs on a season-long loan from Benfica, with a loan fee set to cost Tottenham £2.7million. A permanent fee will also be included in the loan deal, with Spurs having to pay £38.2million to nab him.
However, Spurs were not the first English club interested in signing Vinicius. Last summer, according to Wolves were interested in landing the striker – with Jorge Mendes the striker’s agent.
But it appears Spurs are set to win the race for Vinicius. It is turning out to be some window for Spurs, who have also brought in Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon. Vinicius might not be their last signing.
Wolves supporters took to Twitter upon hearing the news that Tottenham are closing in on the addition of Vinicius, and many have responded by underlining their frustration at Wolves failing to nab him – especially after the loss of Diogo Jota.
