Wolves fans hail Raul Jimenez after Europa League qualifier win

Raul Jimenez caught the eye during his 55 minutes against Crusaders on Thursday night – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter raved about his performance.

Wolves secured a 4-1 away victory against the Northern Irish team and a 6-1 scoreline on aggregate, which meant they eased into the third round of Europa League qualifying.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team had an early scare when Ryan Bennett netted an own goal to potentially set up a contest, but the quality of the Premier League came through.

Jimenez scored twice on his first start of the 2019/20 campaign, while Bennett scored one in the opposition’s goal and there was also an own goal from Jordan Forsythe.

Jimenez netted his first strike on the turn to highlight his predatory instincts, while his second was an effort on the edge of the box into the top right corner.

The Mexican centre-forward managed 17 goals across all competitions last season at Wolves and is one of the key performers at Molineux.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media are delighted to see Jimenez back in the team and felt he looked sharp against Crusaders in the competitive match.

The 28-year-old is someone that has an excellent partnership with Diogo Jota in attack and will be hoping to make a mark in Europe.
