Wolves and Brendan Rodgers now looking to sign ‘immense’ player from Tottenham this summer

Celtic may have to stave off competition from three Premier League clubs to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.

The Hoops are prepared to offer the Tottenham Hotspur loanee an ‘attractive’ contract offer in a bid to persuade the centre-back that his long-term future belongs in Glasgow.

The 24-year-old American has been a roaring success at Parkhead since joining from Spurs in the summer on a season-long loan.

The Scottish giants have the option of signing Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal, which could rise to £10million, but personal terms will still have to be ironed with the USA international.

Carter-Vickers, who scored the winning goal in Sunday’s crucial 2-1 win over Rangers at Ibrox, has become a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s title charge and he could have the opportunity of playing Champions League football next season.

Reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title and putting themselves in the position of qualifying for the Champions League group stages will only likely bolster Celtic’s chances of putting together an attractive package to Carter-Vickers.

However, report that Wolves, Burnley and Leicester City are interested in signing Carter-Vickers from his parent club Tottenham in the summer.

Burnley’s chances will likely rest on whether they manage to preserve their Premier League status while high-flying Wolves will fancy their chances of convincing Carter-Vickers Molineux is the best place for him if they secure European football themselves.

Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that Carter-Vickers fancies the move to the King Power Stadium.

It seems that Cameron Carter-Vickers, who Chris Sutton labelled as ‘immense’ for his performance in the Old Firm, faces a big decision heading into the summer.

Does he stay in Scotland with Celtic or move to a Premier League club and finally make his maiden top-flight appearance.
