With schedule crisis looming, Tottenham should hand youngster Harvey White a League Cup start
Tottenham Hotspur are facing a scheduling crisis in the coming days, and must turn to different members of their squad in order to emerge from the time crunch unscathed.
Spurs play Manchester City in the Premier League tonight, and just two days later face off against West Ham United in the League Cup.
With two fixtures in such close proximity, Mauricio Pochettino must hand promising 17-year-old Harvey White a start against the Hammers.
The central midfielder was named as Tottenham’s best first-year academy scholar by this month, and is highly-regarded in north London.
The Argentine manager has already revealed his faith in White as Pochettino invited the teenager to with the first team earlier this year.
The League Cup match against Spurs’ London rivals would be the ideal opportunity for White to make his first team debut. The decision would be beneficial for all parties involved: Pochettino gets to rest first-choice players who featured against City, and the youngster gains priceless professional experience.
