‘Wish you would’ve come’… Jesse Marsch tells £20m striker he wanted him at Leeds United
Jesse Marsch got a lot wrong during his time at Leeds United.
The less said about the American’s tenure the better, but perhaps things would’ve been different if the gaffer got all of the transfer targets he wanted.
Marsch was backed in the transfer market, but there’s one player he seemingly wanted who he couldn’t land.
Indeed, speaking on , Jesse Marsch has sent a message to Benjamin Sesko after his fantastic recent form, and he told the striker that he wishes he could’ve had him at Leeds.

Marsch tells Sesko he wanted him at Leeds.
The manager sent a message to the forward.
“Hey Benjamin, it’s your old trainer here Jesse Marsch. It’s been really fun to watch you the past few years and how great you’re playing at Leipzig. I’ve always believed in your potential, and I know what a humble hard-working good person you are. I hope to see you soon, keep going, I’m a big fan of yours, I’m always pushing for you, I wish you would’ve come to Leeds my man, keep going,” Marsch said.
Would’ve been brilliant
Sesko is a player that Marsch will know very well from his time in the Red Bull stable, but, unfortunately, he couldn’t bring him with him to Leeds.
Sesko has proven this season that he is a top striker at both Bundesliga and Champions League level, and who knows? Perhaps Marsch would still be in a job and Leeds would still be in the Premier League.
Unfortunately, Marsch instead had the likes of Patrick Bamford leading the line for him last season, and while Bamford is a good player, he was less than reliable or prolific last season, and that led to Leeds’ relegation.
Sesko is a fantastic player, and hopefully, we’ll see him in the Premier League one day.
