Wilson Odobert proved a key point to Ange Postecoglou vs Man United that will worry Heung-min Son at Tottenham

Wilson Odobert made his long-awaited return from injury against Manchester United and already proved a point to Ange Postecoglou.

Odobert has been out of action since September after suffering a hamstring injury and was given six minutes of action againsꦉt United.

Tottenham ended up winning 1-0 against the Red Devils with James Maddison’s first-half goal proving to🍃 be the difference bet🐭ween the two teams.

Odobert was one of several players Postecoglou got back from injury including Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Bren𒊎nan Johnson and Destiny Udogie.

Odobert completes same number of dribbles in three minutes as Son

Wilson Odobert completed more dribbles in three minutes than Dejan Kulusevski and matched Heung-min Son’s tally of two against Manchester United.

The Frenchman looked🗹 very ꧋lively when he entered the field as he drove the ball forward with confidence looking to take on United defenders.

Kulusevski and Son produced pretty underwhelming performanꦕces by their own standards and both struggled to beat their men in one-on-one situ𝔉ations.

Odobert’s return now offers Postecoglou a different type of fo💧rward – a player willing to drive with the ball – which could be exactly what 🧸his team have been missing.

The Australian manager needs to carꦗefully manage the 19-year-old back into action having only just returned from injury but he should be looking to phase out Son for Odobert.

What Ange Postecoglou said about Wilson Odobert’s Tottenham return

Tottenham were able to name their strongest bench in months against Ruben Amorim’s side with 🐭all nine being senior players.

Speaking after 🦋the 1-0 win against United, Postecoglou told the media: “The injured lads are all desperate to contribute. They have seen what theಌ other guys have gone through and are just pushing hard.

“Even Brennan, Wilson, Destiny, they were really keen to be involved today. There was no me holding them back. The❀y wanted to be a part of it.”
