William Gallas and Jose Mourinho react on Instagram as Tottenham beat Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur cruised to victory in Sunday’s north London derby in true Jose Mourinho style as Spurs enjoyed just 30% possession but still emerged with a 2-0 win – and both Mourinho and William Gallas posted on Instagram.
Unsurprisingly, Mourinho’s side sat back and allowed Arsenal to dominate possession – before springing the counter attack. It worked to perfection, as both Son Heung-min and Harry Kane scored, assisting eachother.
Son opened the scoring, cutting inside from the left flank as the South Korea captain so often does – before curling an exquisite effort into the far corner past Bernd Leno. It was 2-0 before half-time, thanks to Kane.
Son drove at the Arsenal defence on the break, after a Gunners attack. A cute Kane run down the side of Son saw him lash the ball into the net left-footed off the underside of the bar – and Spurs were 2-0 up at the break.
Mikel Arteta’s side did come out fighting in the second 45, proving to be more pungent with their passing in the final third – but even Willian’s cut back could not find an Arsenal attacker. Spurs kept another clean sheet.
They also returned to the top of the Premier League table and Mourinho reacted on Instagram with a three-word verdict: “What a team”. Meanwhile, Gallas – who played for both – labelled Spurs the best team in north London.
