Will Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo move to Manchester United this transfer window?
With the news that Cristiano Ronaldo may be looking to exit Real Madrid this summer, as reported by , a return to Manchester United may be on the cards.
The Portuguese superstar sees his future away from Spain due to recent allegations over tax payments and how he has been treated by the associated authorities.
The 32-year-old has had a remarkable career and especially so at Madrid, scoring 406 goals, in just 394 games. For a sparkling period at the Los Blancos to end so abruptly would not seem right, but if United or another big European club come calling, Ronaldo could just head for the exit door.
A return to United would be huge for several reasons. He would be going back to the club where he first made his name, but, of course, a lot has changed since then.
The Madrid man would also be reunited with his former Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho, who he spent time with at the Champions League winners, undergoing great success during this period. Seeing the two at United would be remarkable and it could be a partnership that could see the Red Devils return to the top domestically and in Europe.
The Portuguese man’s transition from a left winger to a more central role also suits a move to United. The Old Trafford outfit are keen to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and bringing in another superstar, in the form of Ronaldo, would please fans massively. If anything, the return of Ronaldo would almost be an upgrade on the Swedish striker who led them to glory last season.
Any coup for a four-time Ballon d’Or winner and arguably the world’s best player would be a huge deal. The Portuguese star’s image and personality would benefit the business side of the club, as Ronaldo would link-up with fellow superstar Paul Pogba to boost United’s franchise massively. The question is, are Manchester United the club capable of pulling off this deal?
