Will Klopp come to regret leaving Shaqiri at home against Red Star?
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made a bold call to leave Xherdan Shaqiri out of his squad to face Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The German decided, , that it would be too big a risk to bring the player to Serbia after he celebrated a goal against the nation for Switzerland at the World Cup with an ‘Albania Eagle’, to pay tribute to his heritage.

He was fined for making the sign, and booed by the visiting Red Star supporters during the previous game at Anfield two weeks ago.
The decision was subsequently taken to leave Shaqiri out entirely for the reverse fixture in Serbia.
Questions are now being asked of Klopp, after a terrible display in Belgrade.
Could Klopp seriously regret his decision?
With Liverpool having lost the game 2-0, it’s now touch and go for the Reds.

They currently sit second in Group C having lost two games, the other being against Napoli, with the Italians now top on six points after another draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
The French champions are third just a point behind Liverpool, and Red Star remain bottom but are actually now in contention themselves with four points.
Liverpool were way off the pace in Belgrade.

There were poor performances all over the pitch for the visitors.
Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge were particularly poor, and in-form Shaqiri might have made more of a difference on the night.
The star has been one of Liverpool brightest sparks in recent weeks with his creativity
The decision to leave him at home was a bold one, and one that Klopp may come to regret if they narrowly miss out on qualification.
