‘Will be top class’: Jamie Carragher says Aston Villa have a youngster who’s going right to the top
Jamie Carragher believes that Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey is a ‘top-class’ talent.
One of those players was Ramsey who Carragher is clearly a big fan of.
He was raving about the 21-year-old for his performance against Southampton last week.
“None of those players would get in the team.
“Right now, they are good PL players nothing more. (Ramsey will be top class in the future)”
It’s a glowing reference from Carragher, and Aston Villa fans have been raving about Ramsey for some time now.
Ramsey is currently part of England’s under-21 squad, and came off the bench against Italy on Thursday, taking the captain’s armband.
Carragher must believe this is Ramsey’s level right now, after saying he wouldn’t currently get into the England team.

Carragher: Ramsey is a top-class talent
Aston Villa invested in a number of midfielders this summer, but the focus was on improving their defensive options.
The likes of Boubacar Kamara and Leander Dendoncker are a very different profile to Ramsey.
Steven Gerrard has shown a lot of faith in Ramsey, playing him in every Premier League match this season.
The midfielder is an impressive passer and dribbler in the middle of the park, although he can also be deployed on the left.
He also puts a shift in off the ball, and his adaptability makes him a valuable asset.

Danny Murphy has previously said that Ramsey could be a good ‘wildcard’ option for Gareth Southgate at the World Cup.
If his development continues at the rate it has been since his debut two years ago, there’s no doubt the midfielder will be brilliant.
Carragher’s belief that Ramsey is a top-class talent is shared by many.
However, he may benefit from being kept out of the international spotlight just a little longer to concentrate on his development at Aston Villa.
