Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Spurs went into the summer transfer window looking for a new top-quality midfielder. As fans kept a close eye on Christian Eriksen hoping that the Dane would return to North London, Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte stepped up and quickly got a deal in place for another Premier League player.

Reports over the last few days revealed that Tottenham are really keen to sign Bissouma and they even have a fee agreed with Graham Potter’s Brighton ahead of a summer move.

Now, Romano has all but confirmed the transfer.

Tottenham really aren’t messing around in this transfer window, are they?

Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers, and it now looks like they’re set to complete their third senior summer signing now.

Romano revealed on a few hours ago that Tottenham are set to seal the deal for Bissouma today. He claims that final contacts will take place between the clubs, and the Mali international will make the switch for around £25 million.

“Tottenham are set to complete Yves Bissouma deal, here we go! There will be final contacts with Brighton today on payment terms, then paperworks time. Medical already scheduled as expected,” Romano tweeted.

Spurs deserve huge praise

If you’re a Tottenham fan, you must be wondering what’s going on. It’s so unlike Spurs to get multiple transfer deals done this early in the window, but things have changed now.

Perisic is a fantastic signing for Conte, while Forster will provide excellent cover for Hugo Lloris when required. Bissouma, however, could prove to be Tottenham’s best signing this summer – irrespective of who else they’ll bring in before the window shuts.

The Brighton star has consistently been brilliant over the last few years. He has taken his game to another level under Potter, and he’s already among the best in his position in the Premier League.

Under Conte, he will become even better, and Spurs fans should be really excited about watching him don their colours next season.
