‘What a player’, ‘I love you’: Some Liverpool fans react to update over ‘exceptional’ ace

Some Liverpool fans were reacting after the club confirmed the departure of Gini Wijnaldum.

In a post, the Merseysiders said the Netherlands international will join Paris Saint Germain.

Wijnaldum was tipped to join Barcelona for the last few weeks.

However, the came in at the last second with a more attractive offer to steal the midfielder from the clutches of the Spaniards.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a magical time with the Reds. He played in 237 games across all competitions, lifting the Champions League and Premier League.

His most memorable moment was in the semi-final clash versus Barcelona, where the ace struck twice in two minutes. His goals were crucial, helping the team recover from 3-0 down to defeat the Catalan giants 4-3 on aggregate.

Tony Cascarino labelled him an ‘exceptional‘ player.
