Leeds United fans have been left laughing as the club made reference to one of their most famous tweets of all time last night.

With Leeds fans all waiting to hear confirmation of the signing of Junior Firpo from Barcelona all day, it got to 10pm without any announcement being made.

Rather than simply letting the day past though, Leeds could not resist teasing their fans a little further.

Leeds posted a message seemingly referencing back to their now infamous tweet on deadline day where they posted ‘don’t go to bed just yet’ before simply announcing that two players were leaving.

And here’s how Leeds fans reacted to the message…

Looks like good news is incoming

The good news for Leeds is that the club surely wouldn’t have been posting such humerous tweets if there wasn’t certainty that the deal was going to be done.

Indeed, that Leeds’ move for Firpo was all wrapped up at this stage.

The full-back’s arrival looks like exciting news for Leeds, as they put a plan in place to build a squad for next season.

Firpo should offer them more energy from left-back and the club clearly see him as an upgrade on Gjanni Alioski, who they are seemingly prepared to let go.
