West Ham’s £7m deal to sign Lukasz Fabianski last summer () was kind of slept on by fans.
The Polish stopper has been an outstanding signing for the club, although he doesn’t have too many clean sheets to show for his efforts
His influence on West Ham has been huge after the poor showings from Joe Hart and Adrian last term.
Fabianski isn’t part of the new breed of goalkeeper that can play with their feet, but he is a great shot stopper and has a good command of his area.
With him between the sticks there is no panic and rarely are mistakes leading directly to goals made.
He is just a solid goalkeeper who does his job consistently week in, week out. With West Ham’s tendency to concede chances, his influence in keeping the team in contests is huge.
