Why Hector Bellerin could help Arsenal sign Julian Draxler – TBR View
Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino – a Tottenham icon – might be about to raid his old club’s biggest rivals and sign Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, but the Gunners could use Bellerin’s exit to their advantage.
Italian website that Pochettino, who has since taken charge of PSG – one of the clubs he played for during his playing career – wants to sign Bellerin, but he faces competition from Barcelona and Juventus.
It comes after that Barcelona were weighing up a £22million move for Bellerin – who was left on the bench on Monday night as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 win over Newcastle. Cedric Soares starred in his place.
Bellerin has been a consistent performer for Arsenal this season but has certainly not been one of their star players – the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette currently boast that mantle.

Meanwhile, Arsenal want PSG playmaker Julian Draxler. The 27-year-old’s contract expires in the summer but he could leave this summer and state that Arsenal have held talks with the player’s agent over a potential move.
PSG will be desperate to get some sort of fee for Draxler this month, rather than letting him go for nothing in the summer and by that time – Arsenal may find that the World Cup winner picks another club.
This month, Arsenal can take advantage and swoop early – by taking advantage of PSG and Pochettino’s interest in Bellerin. With both sides keen on each other’s player, perhaps a Draxler-plus-cash deal could be orchestrated.
The arrival of Draxler would give Smith-Rowe some much needed competition and finally see the Gunners replace Mesut Ozil. Bellerin, then, could hold the key in Arsenal nabbing Draxler ahead of the other interested parties.
