Arsenal told £30m striker they’ve approached is the ‘complete package’ and could be perfect for them
With less than a week left until the January transfer window shuts, Arsenal are yet to get a new signing on board.
Arsenal are eager to sign reinforcements up front, particularly in wake of Gabriel Jesus?season-ending injury.
Botafogo striker Igor Jesus is a player Arsenal are looking at. Indeed, Arsenal are said to have made an approach for Jesus.
Now, South American football expert Tim Vickery has issued an emphatic verdict on the Gunners target and what he’d bring to N5.

Tim Vickery says Igor Jesus is an ‘all-round striker?who appears to suit Arsenal
Vickery, speaking on , said Igor Jesus ?said to be valued at £20-30million ?is a “very promising player?who looks like “the complete package?
He also explained how he’d fit Arsenal’s requirements as he’s an “all-round striker? and wondered whether he’d actually turn the Gunners down.
“This time last year he was in the United Arab Emirates and he wasn’t even a household name in his own home,?said Vickery.
“Botafogo brought him on a free in July and by October he was Brazil’s first-choice centre forward.
“He looks like the complete package. a very, very promising player indeed.
“We understand that he personally rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest at the weekend which was said to be ?0million (£25million).
“It seems he said no to Forest, but my big question would be would he say no to Arsenal?
“He would seem to fit their requirements, he’s an all-round striker, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s mobile, he can hold the ball up, he can run into the channels.
“If there were to be a bid from Arsenal would he say no to that??/p>
In terms of other options TBR Football understands that Arsenal have been offered Fiorentina forward Moise Kean and Atalanta attacker Mateo Retegui.
Arsenal made a bid for Dusan Vlahovic earlier this month, while Jonathan David was touted as an Arsenal target too.
The similarities between Igor Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli
Jesus has previously compared himself to Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli, along with fellow Brazilians Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.
“The (Brazil) national team has a very pacey attack when you look at players like Vinicius, Rodrygo and Martinelli,?Jesus said. “I think my game is quite similar to theirs.
“I like to try to attack the spaces and I am mobile. I don’t just stay in the box.
“I am capable of holding onto balls played out by the keeper and holding off defenders, which I think helps to ease the pressure on the team in tough passages of play.
“I hope I can play well so that I get called up for future squads too.?/p>
