Analysing the major contenders for the Bristol City managerial role

Steve Cotterill was sacked earlier this month following a 1-2 defeat at home to Preston North End and an unsavoury altercation with a fan before half time. The Cheltenham born man’s departure was to some extent a shock considering how last season his side were supreme in League One, winning the title and the JPT in some fashion; but ultimately without a win in seven and just four wins in the Championship all season the writing was on tꦇhe wall in most respects.

Currently Cotterill’s assistant John Pemberton is in charge with Under 21 boss Wade Elliott, and the question on the lips of all Bristol City fans is who will be appointed next by owner Steve Lansdown. The bookies odds have lengthened and shortened abundantly over the past ten or so days, but a few names remain in the mix, and this article shall attempt to evaluate each potential manager’s credentials as well as the likelihood of the candidate taking the vacant job at Ashtonಞ Gate.
