Whether Nico Williams actually wants to sign for Arsenal or Barcelona as Gunners are happy to pay his wages

Nico Williams would rather sign for Barcelona over Arsenal

Sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Williams would rather move to Barcelona instead of heading to Arsenal.

Williams’ ideal scenario is staying in Spain and playing alongside Lamine Yamal for Barcelona despite Arsenal’s interest in his signature, the transfer expert revealed: “Arsenal, Liverpool and ☂Chelsea – as well as a central striker, they all want a left-winger and arguably if you asked hem all who their first choice is – the likely answer is the same and that is Nico Williams.”

“Talks have taken place and arguably the most advanced is Arsenal. Andrea Berta has spoken with his camp since he came in. But with Williams that one issue remains…does he want to play in England? And that question just has not been answ🃏er🐓ed.”

“We know Williams w𒆙ants to play for Barcelona, he wants to play with Lamine Yamal. Personally, like Arsenal and others, I am not convinced he wants to leave Spain.”

Furthermore, the speculation around Williams, who claimed 𒀰he is better t♒han Lamine Yamal is t🎀hat h🌞e would like weekly wages of £250,000-a-week at his next club.

While Barcelona’s stance on paying his wages remains unknown, as Arsenal’🤡s interest in Williams has been longstanding — they are open to paying the big bucks.

But it seems like for thꦦe time being, the Euro 2024 winner is fully focused on life at Athletic Bilbao.

After Bilbao qualified to the Eu👍ropa League semi-finals by beating Rangers 2-0, Williams💫 did not suggest he is eyeing a move to Barcelona and instead declared his two primary objectives.

The youngster said: “We have the goal of winning the♕ Europa League and, next year, to crush the Champions League.”
