Whether Murillo has a release clause in new Nottingham Forest contract amid Real Madrid interest
TBR Football understands that Murillo has now finalised a new contract at Nottingham Forest that will see his stay extended until 2029.
Murillo arrived at the City Ground in 2023 after deciding to swap his boyhood side Corinthians for an opportunity at Forest.
Since then, Murillo has made 57 appearances in red and has flourished into one of the strongest centre-backs in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Brazilian has formed an extremely effective partnership with Nikola Milenkovic, explaining why Forest have been keen to hand Murillo a new deal.
TBR previously confirmed that Murillo was close to agreeing a new Forest contract, and that deal is now in place.
Nottingham Forest agree new Murillo contract without a release clause
In addition, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Murillo’s new deal does not contain a release clause.
Given his fine form, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been hugely impressed with Murillo’s performances over the last 12 months.

But the left-footed centre-back is more than happy to be staying at Forest, who are still dreaming of a Champions League finish this season.
Murillo has only missed one Premier League match for Nuno this season – the recent win over Everton owing to a minor complaint.
Otherwise, the Brazilian has played 90 minutes in every league game for Forest, who sit third after 22 matches.
Of course, Murillo also scored his first Forest goal this season against Newcastle, a header he certainly enjoyed judging by his lengthy celebration afterwards.
Murillo ready to play Champions League football at the City Ground
In line with signing a new contract at Forest, Murillo gave a hint about his commitment to the club after drawing 2-2 with Liverpool recently.
Speaking to , Murillo spoke about his ambition to play Champions League football at the club, confirming that he was going nowhere for now.
Translated from Portuguese, Murillo said: “It’s an objective that we’ve seen can be achieved due to the potential, the day-to-day life that we live, the results as well that the team are managing to get.
“We see also the achievements are surreal so we see this as an objective.
“We have six wins and one draw from our last seven matches, we are undefeated. So let’s work.
“We will love hearing the Champions League music at the City Ground, our club has already won two and it would be an honour to compete in the Champions League again with Nottingham Forest.”
