How much England are prepared to pay Thomas Tuchel amid Manchester United links
- Exclusive from Graeme Bailey
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag faces an uncertain future after a poor start to the 2024/25 season.
The Red Devils currently sit a lowly 14th place in the Premier League table and pressure is mounting on the Dutch manager.
In recent days, Manchester United♍ have been linked with a “world-class” manager, but it looks as though they are now set to miss out.

England set to swoop in on Thomas Tuchel amid Manchester United talks
The Football Association are ready to offer Thomas Tuchel the England job as early as this week, sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed to TBR Football.
🔯The FA had been assessing their options heading into this international window and were not in a hurry to make an appointment before the New Year, ahead of their World Cup qualifiers in March.
🧔But England’s defeat to Greece has caused a re-think and technical director John McDermott is leading the charge to look at an appointment before their next set of games in November.
🌟It is believed giving a new manager as much time with the new squad could be beneficial to everyone concerned.
TBR Football confirmed earlier this week that ꦍTuchel’s representatives were in contact with the FA, as well as Manchester United𝔉, as the German made it clear he wanted his next job to be in England.
ꦉNow, with United considering Erik ten Hag’s position, the FA have now moved to accelerate talks in the last 48 hours and talks have gone well – to the point where they are now ready to hand Tuchel the job.

Tuchel could earn almost as much as Pep Guardiola
🃏TBR Football understands that Tuchel’s demands are substantially bigger than that Gareth Southgate earned (£5million-a-year).
♏A deal to land him would require him to become the highest paid manager in English history. Indeed, only Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be earning more in England.
🌠Tuchel, who’s been labelled ‘world class’ per , now seems well-placed to land one of the biggest jobs in international football.
