When Sverre Nypan is set to decide on his future as Manchester United fall behind Arsenal and Manchester City in race

Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are just some of the Premier League clubs who have been linked with Sverre Nypan this month.

Sverre Nypan is one of Europe’s most exciting young players, having made waves since coming through the ranks at Rosenborg.

TBR football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Arsenal remain confident of signing Nypan despite interest from Manchester City.

Bailey also noted how Nypan is yet to decide on his future and has not rejected a move to Manchester United, who are long-term suitors, as of yet.

However, the Red Devils are now reported to have fallen behind in the race for Nypan, who is set to make a decision imminently.

Manchester United unable to offer Sverre Nypan assurances over game time

Nypan has refused to rule out the possibility of staying with Rosenborg for the coming months before completing a switch in the summer, according to .

However, the report adds Nypan wants to declare what he sees as his next career move by Sunday to end speculation over his future and ensure his focus is not impacted.

In addition, Nypan is said to have been discussing transfer options with members of his family in a bid to determine the best club to continue his development.

Arsenal, Man City and Aston Villa remain in contention, but a move to Man United now appears out of the question for the £10million gem, according to the outlet.

This is because Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly been unable to give assurances over the amount of game time Nypan can expect.

TBR Football sources have also confirmed that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion have shown an interest in Nypan this month.

What Nypan could bring to the Premier League

Nypan has already made 60 competitive appearances for Rosenborg, registering an impressive 13 goals and 11 assists, at just 18 years of age.

He is an intelligent and technically gifted player whose abilities to pass and carry the ball, as well as his eye for goal, are already at a very high level.

Nypan’s talent and potential has seen him earn comparisons with fellow Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard, who joined Real Madrid as a teenager and is now Arsenal’s captain.

“Sverre Nypan is extremely exciting, and I get a bit of the same feeling as when I saw Martin Odegaard break through as a boy,” Norwegian football expert Jesper Mathisen told  in August 2023.

Odegaard has reportedly been trying to convince Nypan to join Arsenal, and the next few days should see whether the Gunners skipper will have been successful.
