When Andrea Berta has told Mikel Arteta to expect Viktor Gyokeres in Asia, another Arsenal signing to follow

TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Arsenal are expected to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in the next 48 hours.

Arsenal have had a busy summer on the transfer front, making a host of exciting signings thus far.

Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga have all joined Arsenal over the past few weeks.

Arsenal have also been busy in pursuit of a striker – and it looks as though their search is coming to an end.

TBR Football can also confirm what is left to do before a deal is struck between the two clubs over Gyokeres.

In addition, Gyokeres is expected to be one of two signings the Gunners will make in the coming days.

Mikel Arteta told he can expect Viktor Gyokeres in Arsenal squad by weekend

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Arsenal are on the verge of making a breakthrough for Viktor Gyokeres.

A deal worth around £64million had been agreed in principle several weeks ago, but there are some loose ends that need to be tied up.

Those are nearly wrapped up – and better still, Cristhian Mosquera is also expected to join around the same time as Gyokeres.

In addition, Andrea Berta is understood to have told Mikel Arteta that he can expect both players in his squad by the weekend.

“I am told that Andrea Berta told Mikel Arteta this morning in Asia that Gyokeres and Mosquera will be with them by the weekend, possibly within 48 hours,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“Arsenal as we have said, remained calm – overall package is just about what was agreed weeks ago – just payment terms, clauses were left.

“Sporting have agreed overall deal and as it says, it really is just the finishing touches.”

Who Arsenal are playing in their pre-season tour of Asia

Arsenal jetted off to Singapore on Saturday, with the Gunners set to play three matches in Asia.

Arsenal are next in action on Saturday when they take on AC Milan at the Singapore National Stadium on Wednesday, 12:30pm BST kick-off.

The Gunners then take on Newcastle United at the same stadium on Sunday, and it is once again set to be a 12:30pm kick-off.

Arsenal then wrap up the tour with the first north London derby outside of the United Kingdom, taking on Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong on Thursday 31 July, 12:30pm BST kick-off.

Gyokeres and Mosquera could potentially be already playing for Arsenal against Newcastle, though there’s a better chance they could feature against Tottenham.
