What William Saliba now thinks about joining Real Madrid amid contract talks with Arsenal
TBR Football understands that Arsenal are confident William Saliba will sign a new contract and turn his back on interest from Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have shown an interest in Saliba, however, the defender believes the North London club will be making another strong push for the Premier League title next season.
Saliba produced a sensational performance against Madrid on Wednesday evening to eliminate Los Blancos from the Champions League, and now, he is ready to commit to Mikel Arteta’s project.
Saliba is set to be joined by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel in signing new deals with Arsenal as the North London club prepares to offer the trio bumper new contracts.

William Saliba to turn back on Real Madrid’s interest for new Arsenal deal
Arsenal are ready to make William Saliba, along with Saka, their highest earner, overtaking Kai Havertz, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
As TBR Football revealed on Tuesday, Saka is set to get £300k-a-week and the French international is likely to sign a very similar deal to his Arsenal teammate.
The Gunners are expected to have a big summer transfer window and that could be enough to convince him to stay for at least another season.
Bailey told TBR Football: “Arsenal are confident of getting those big three done: Saliba, Gabriel and Saka. All three will get significant pay rises, especially Saliba and Saka, who will probably move ahead of Havertz as the club’s highest earners.
“Saliba will realise that a move to Madrid won’t happen this summer. I think there is a feeling from Saliba’s side, let’s give the Arteta side at least another year, can we win the title next year?
“They will be getting told, ‘we’re bringing in x, y and z this summer, we really are going to be challenging for that title’. I don’t think there’s any chance that Saliba leaves this summer. I think it’s more likely than not that he signs a new deal.”
Arsenal have also looked at Nathan Collins and Dean Huijsen in a bid to add to their defensive options for next season.
Cristian Romero is on Real Madrid’s radar in their hunt for central defender
Meanwhile, Madrid are targeting another central defender from North London, and that being Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero.
Although at this current stage, Madrid looks set to miss out on Romero to Atletico Madrid, with Diego Simeone desperate to bring him to the Spanish capital.
“I think he’ll go to Spain, I believe he’ll go to Atletico (Madrid). He’s on Real Madrid’s radar and talked about there, but are Real Madrid going to sign a centre-back this summer? It’s undecided. But Romero is not the first choice,” claimed Bailey.
