What transfer demand Ange Postecoglou has made in recent Tottenham recruitment meeting

Tottenham Hotspur are still in search of more summer signings following what has been a slow start to the window.

Outgoings have not been an issue for Tottenham with eight players having already bid farewell to north London this summer.

However, Ange Postecoglou is having his patience tested when it comes to new arrivals with just Archie Gray landing as a new face for the season opener in two weeks time.

Timo Werner and Yang Min-hyeok have also been signed this summer but there will be a clamour for more over the coming weeks.

And it does seem as if, in a recent transfer meeting, the Spurs boss has made his thoughts known on what he wants to see from the recruitment team.

Ange Postecoglou issues Tottenham transfer demand

Serious questions have to be asked how Spurs now find themselves 12 months on from selling Harry Kane without having replaced him.

Richarlison’s opportunity to impress last season proved to be a failure with the Brazilian striker missing a lot of game time through injury.

Even more concerning is the fact that Richarlison has remained sidelined all summer through his ongoing injury issue.

As it stands, Postecoglou is going into the opener against Leicester City needing to pick either Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski or put his faith in one of the club’s young strikers.

According to journalist , Postecoglou has now demanded Spurs bring in a new striker this summer.

And in a recent transfer meeting, the Australian has made it clear that he feels a striker with Premier League experience would be really important.

“With Ange Postecoglou, I’m told that in a recent recruitment meeting he said he’d prefer Premier League experience, which is where Dominic Solanke comes into the mix,” said Jacobs.

Tottenham have held initial talks for Dominic Solanke

As Jacobs mentioned, Spurs are showing a real interest in the Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke now.

Initial talks have now been held between Tottenham and Bournemouth over a potential deal for Solanke who has a £65m release clause.

Tottenham have also shown interest in Ivan Toney this summer but his move away from Brentford may have been hindered by the club’s injury issues.

Bringing in a player with Premier League experience is always going to be a safer bet given Spurs will know what these players are capable of doing in England.

However, that naturally sees the same players come with a much loftier price tag.

And with Solanke, Spurs are certainly expected to be needing to dig deep in their pockets if they are going to sign him this summer.
