Argentina looked to be cruising to a 2-0 victory before Mbappe scored two goals in the space🎐 of two minutes. The PSG star forced extra🎐-time and Lionel Messi thought he had sealed a victory in the 17th minute of the extended period.
Mbappe had other ideas though and stepped up from the spot to🔥 send the game to a penalty shootout. Much to Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris’ dismay, Emiliano Martinez proved to be the hero for Argentina.
Scaloni’s squad would be forgiven for celebrating through the night after such an🐲 historic win. But it seems that Romero rounded his night off wi🦩th a game of FIFA, alongside United star Martinez.

The pair appeared to be at the team hotel and wer🐻e both kitted out in Argentina attire. While Martinez was smiling and joking, Romero was fully focused on the game.
Romero will r✱eturn to Hotspur Way with a spring in his step after he helped Messi and Argentina to World Cup glory.
The 24-year-old was ruled out of Spurs’ games before the tournamen🐼t,෴ but Conte will be hoping that he returns fully up to speed after featuring in every game for Argentina.
It re🅷mains to be seen whether Romero will be available for Spurs’ trip to ꦡBrentford on Boxing Day and the same goes for Hugo Lloris, who was on the losing side yesterday.
Martinez should be fresh and raring to go after he didn’t fꦐeature in yesterday’s final. The former Ajax defender has been a standout performer in Erik Ten Hag’s side this season and he carried his form into the tournament.
While he didn’t play as regularly as Romero, he came up big when called upon by Scaloni and looks to have a bright future ahead of him with his nat🥂ional side.
