Tottenham staff were concerned about James Maddison after Euro 2024 omission

According to the , Tottenham staff were concerned about how James Maddison would return from the summer break after his omission from England’s Euro 2024 squad.

The former Leicester City playmaker was involved in the warm-up games leading up to the tournament but Gareth Southgate opted to leave him out of the 26-man squad.

Despite the heartbreak, it’s thought Maddison returned with hunger and determination to right the wrongs of the summer.

And whilst his performances haven’t quite been at the level, it’s not for a lack of trying.

James Maddison isn’t far from finding his form

Maddison has actually looked back to his best in flurries this season and that’s evidenced by his two assists so far.

Even against Arsenal, there were glimmers and signs that he’s close to returning to his best, so that will provide Postecoglou with encouragement.

The Coventry academy graduate will return to his old stomping ground this evening on what will be a very special occasion for him and his family.

Perhaps the Spurs boss should consider starting him to try and play him into form.
