What Tottenham now plan on doing for Ange Postecoglou in January

Tottenham have made a flying start to the season but injuries and suspensions are threatening to put the brakes on things.

Ange Postecoglou has got Tottenham flying but a messy game against Chelsea in midweek has caused real problems.

James Maddison is out until the new year, while Micky van de Ven will also be missing until 2024 as well.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie are suspended, while Richarlison has undergone surgery to fix a long-standing problem.

This could well lead to a change in strategy for Spurs in January. And according to , the club are now planning on making at least two signings in the winter.

Tottenham to make double signing in January transfer window

Writing in his column for , Delaney says that a winger and a defender are now being targeted by Postecoglou and Spurs.

“Tottenham Hotspur’shave immediately exposed the lack of squad depth, which has given the club some cause for thought given how the campaign has gone so far. There is the real sense that they can get Champions League this season, which would be ahead of schedule, but that probably requires more depth. That means they will make at least one January transfer, but probably more. Ange Postecoglou could do with another wide player, but they clearly need another defender too,” Delaney said.

Tottenham had always planned on trying to help the new manager out in the winter but the sheer magnitude of their injury problems could now force plans to change.

With Spurs doing so well, it’s going to be vital for them that they do go out and get players for Ange.

Yes, they might not be able to replace stars like Maddison and Van de Ven. But having players to at least fill the squad and contribute could be huge.

Certainly, Spurs fans will be expecting a few signings at the very least and according to this report, they might get their wish.
