What Tottenham are planning to focus on in the final week of the transfer window after Leicester draw
The summer transfer window is coming to an end, and Tottenham can be happy with the business they’ve done so far.
Spurs have made three major new signings for over £100m, and their squad is now in a very good position.
As we head into the final week of the transfer window, Tottenham still have work to do, and according to Dharmesh Sheth, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Tottenham’s focus in the final week of the window will be slightly different.
According to Sheth, Tottenham will now be focused on selling players rather than bringing new signings in at this point.
Tottenham will be focused on outgoings
Sheth shared what he knows about Spurs’ transfer plans.
“The information I have got is that the focus predominantly now in the final days of this transfer window is on departures. They want to find permanent homes for the likes of Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso given their contract situations. Particularly Reguilon, we know he’s in the final year of his contract,” Sheth said.

Tottenham could still use Lo Celso and Reguilon
Tottenham want to get rid of Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon it would seem, but there’s an argument to make that these players could still be useful for Spurs.
Indeed, Tottenham have a serious lack of depth at left-back, so Reguilon could be of use, while Lo Celso, at his best, is a quality player.
Lo Celso did have a run of form last season where he looked like one of Tottenham’s better players, and he has what it takes to be a star under Ange Postecoglou.
Of course, financially, these sales would make a lot of sense, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Reguilon and Lo Celso were to play a part for Tottenham this season.
It remains to be seen if Spurs can find a team willing to take either Reguilon or Lo Celso off their hands.
