What Steve McManaman has heard about Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah’s contracts at Liverpool
Liverpool have a lot on their plate despite the transfer window being over with three players in need of a new contract at Anfield.
Arne Slot has surprised everyone with just how well he’s got his Liverpool side playing already this season, especially on the defensive front as they’re yet to concede in the Premier League.
One issue that needs resolving is the contract situations of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Van Dijk has spoken out about his future and the calmness he feels on his situation.
In terms of Salah, he’s been very vocal with his contract situation and future at the club after coming out with his comments post-match.
And, Trent is reportedly starting to look at potential options with his contracts talks seemingly at a standstill.
Interestingly, Liverpool legend Steve McManaman has an update on the situation…
What Steve McManaman has been told on Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander Arnold’s contract situations at Liverpool
Of course, securing new deals for all three players has varying difficulty.
Trent has been attracting interest from Real Madrid and was spotted on holiday with Jude Bellingham, so there’s naturally a worry there.
Virgil and Salah’s contracts are slightly more difficult to do and require more thinking with the club perhaps not wanting to put two players aged 32 and 33 on big new deals.
Interestingly, Steve McManaman has revealed what he’s heard about the contract situation on .
“You hope the three deals will be done and I know Liverpool are talking to them already about these contracts now the transfer window is out the way.”

Who is the most important player?
Virgil van Dijk has single-handedly transformed Liverpool’s defence since joining from Southampton, and as one of the best in his position in the world he is irreplaceable in many ways.
Salah is getting on and has always had an eye on Saudi Arabia which is understandable at the age of 33, but he’s clearly still got it with three goals and three assists so far this season.
Trent is still young and has his best years ahead of him. He’s improved already under slot and is arguably one of the best creative right-backs in the world, so there’s more growth and potential here.
Ideally, the Reds would want to tie all three players down but with two ageing players and the Liverpool’s policy of looking at younger players like Anthony Gordon, perhaps one will leave.
